Aim and Idea

We would like to create a short-film project to remind people about online privacy protection.

Purpose

As teenagers and adult are more and more tend to share their life on social media nowadays. We would like to remind them about protecting their own privacy. Their act on internet may lead some negative consequences sometime.

Online Privacy

When we visited the website all of the company can trace your path .To take an example ,Google could know everything about you. Your families, finance status and your home address like Google Maps, your location data is being collected as a default option. As it is popular that using the social media nowadays and people didn’t care about their own privacy,we would like to create a short-film project to remind people about online privacy protection.

Inspiration

The inspiration of the story is the news that talking A women from England called Chloe reported that she has been mocked on instagram. An anonymous “stalker” has copied Chloe’s pictures’ style, postures and even caption writing style. No matter what was the motivation that the stalker did it, it could be very creepy if you have also been imitated online. This incident has raised the attention of the privacy security. People like sharing their living style with the public to earn self-esteem nowadays. But after this happened, should we share our daily living to the public? Is there any better protective sharing method to use?

Story background

It is a discovery story.

Our story “The ghost of You” 影 is type of Whydunnit which is a discovery story. The problem appears and protagonist traces the problem. He discovered that something secret happening out there. He attempts to deal with person behind the secret.

“The ghost of You” is an interactive story, which is about a boy who called Parker, a person who likes to share his daily life to his social media. One day, he received a gift from an anonymous and he was not paying much attention on that. Strange things started to happen since then. Parker discovered that there had been someone stalking on him since childhood. He slowly recognized that the stalker was his primary schoolmate, Samuel. Samuel was a homosexual. He fell in love with Parker since then but Parker never notice. Samuel could not accept Parker’s ignorance anymore and he started to take further actions.

In the story, we have designed different choices in some key events. When the audience pick a choice, it will appear the clip related to audience’s favourable choice. However, it may not be the best choice for Parker’s own fate. It will appear different endings based on the choice that audience have made.
